At twenty two these born and bred Londoners set up their own exclusive event production brand, Friday Thirteenth Club, which saw them hold private pop-up parties each Friday 13th of the year. To their disappointment, the twosome were consistently disenchanted with the lack of connection the DJs were making with their crowd and so they decided it was time to take the music into their own hands.
Fate through the girls a lucky card when their paths crossed only a few months ago with a House DJ, Nezza aka Boy Nez, who has been on and off the London scene for more than ten years. The girls knew that with scenes across the world creating and establishing their own brands of dance music, it was time to discover first hand what’s being bred in the bedrooms and the backrooms of London which is where their first introduction to the infamous bedroom raves (hosted by Nezza) was made. Let’s just say the rest is history.
Violent Blondes have been spinning live in various locations around London since just June 2013, glamorously tearing up underground East London clubs to showcasing their sound in globally renowned venues such as Selfridges & Co.
The blonde duo are inclined to describe their style of music as ‘Fashion Music’; their mission being to introduce Deep House, Tech House and Techno to audiences and venues which lie outside the typical ‘rave’ sphere. They both declare their natural talent for DJing as the musical feeling to select the best record at the right moment in time to create that amazing party atmosphere. They like to see themselves as the injection of twisted glamour the underground music scene needs and whilst they’re spinning from beat-hungry tracks you know to tracks you wish you knew, Violent Blondes are worth watching this space for.
