Christopher Black, better known as Blacky, is one of Belfast’s most popular local DJ’s, with 20 years of experience in the technique. He first discovered his passion and talent for DJing at the young age of 12 whilst experimenting with his friend’s decks. Not long after he got his own set and from there developed his skills as a DJ and began playing at private parties around the city. He got his first proper gig at the age of 17 playing as a warm up act at the Glenpark Night Club, and became a regular at a local under 18’s disco between 2000 and 2001. His growing expertise saw him gain more frequent gigs, playing in Paradise Lost at the famous Eurpopa Hotel Belfast, the Front Page, Space and Belfast Pavilion Bar.
As his talent and love for electronic music grew, it was only fate that he discovered Ibiza and became a frequent traveller to the island. It wasn’t long before he himself came to play for fellow holidayers, getting gigs at bars and pool parties allowed him to develop his musical experience and gain a better understanding of reading a crowd.
