MIREI might be only 15 years old (born July, 1998), but she has already been studying singing and dancing for many years and won one of Japan’s biggest dance battle called “SPROUT” when she was ten (second place in Osaka’s kids division). Since she was 13, MIREI has performed at some of the hottest clubs in NYC, featured in Vy Higginsen’s Gospel For Teens (the prestigious choir which won national competitions and got Emmy for CBS/60 Minutes documentary), singing in front of 40,000 attendees at Japan Day Concert in Central Park, and topped it all off by winning first place at the legendary Amateur Night at Apollo and guested in the song by Torion, YMCMB’s youngest signer.
The video of her US debut single, “Tattoo” became available on VEVO in late August 2013, and quietly generating a buzz across the US and beyond. With a powerhouse, expressive voice, fierce dance moves and a personality that lights up the room, MIREI proves that even though she’s Japanese, she’s got American POP Music in her soul.
