Chungha (birth name Kim Chan-mi; born February 9, 1996) is a South Korean singer under M&H Entertainment. She is best known for ranking 4th in the final episode of South Korean survival show PRODUCE 101, and for being a former member of girl group I.O.I.
Chungha lived in Dallas, Texas for eight years before returning to South Korea to become a singer. As a result, she is able to speak both English and Korean. She auditioned for YG Entertainment and was a former JYP Entertainment trainee[3] before joining M&H Entertainment in 2016. She had trained for three years before debuting, and had been dancing for 6–7 years.
On December 21, M&H Entertainment confirmed that Kim Chung-ha will be debuting as a solo artist in the beginning of 2017 after wrapping up I.O.I's promotions. On April 21, 2017, Chungha released "월화수목금토일 (Week)" as a pre-release single for her debut album. On June 7, she released her first extended play Hands On Me. The title track "Why Don't You Know (feat. 넉살)" is a tropical house song about unrequited love. The mini peaked at #8 on the Gaon Albums Chart.
