When MAO was in middle school, he stayed up late and got hooked on watching pro-wrestling. He began posting youtube videos as a "middle school wrestler", and was discovered by CEO Sanshiro Takagi, later joining DDT. He is known for his powerful jumping skills which is reflected in his fighting style, and uses this to fight his seniors. He was a member of idol unit "NωA" with Makoto Oishi and Shunma Katsumata, and used his hidden talents as a composer, but ended his membership in January 2018. He formed tag team Moonlight Express with Mike Bailey and has been active in and outside Japan, the ring and in the streets.
