Miku Yonezawa (saxophone)
Miku Yonezawa is from Asahikawa in Hokkaido. She won the Gold Prize for solo players at Shobi College of Music. Yonezawa plays with top-level musicians in Japan, such as Makoto Aoyagi, Hiroshi Okamoto, Jiro Okada, Senri Kawaguchi and Hiroyuki Noritake. She has also joined the band of Takuro (Glay). She plays more than 150 shows a year. Her basic music style is jazz and funk, but she enjoys playing a wide range of genres. It makes her the most highly sought-after young female sax player in Japan. Her third album kept the top ranking of jazz sales on Amazon Japan for 28 days in 2018 and placed her at the top of the jazz ranking on the iTunes Store. Her jazz ballad album Dawning Blue was the top seller for 93 days in 2019. Yonezawa made her major debut with King Records releasing her album Exotic Gravity. For those works, she won Jazz Japan Award’s New Star prize. Now she is invited to perform with Senri Kawaguchi and others at the One Young World Summit in Munich in July, 2021.
