KENSHO ONUKI

Born in Tokyo in ’51, at the age of 20 Kensho Onuki began his career as a music critic, while in college. He was the first person in Japan to write about Queen. He travelled to London to interview punk bands like the Sex Pistols and The Clash and was a key person in the Japanese music industry. He began working as a DJ with a show on NHK’s "Wakai Kodama" and in 1979 began broadcasting a show dedicated to the UK charts "Zen-Ei TOP 20", which was the first of its kind. Currently he works as the selector, programmer and personality of Ronnai", which is broadcast nationwide on the JFN network. His legendary party London Night - the first rock DJ event in Japan - began in 1980 at Shinjuku’s Tsubaki House but he continues to hold it at various locations. Since 1996 he has also been running the genre-defying DJ event GROOVY ROCK CARAVAN with friends DJ Carribean Dandy, the actor Jun Murakami.
KAN TAKAGI

Born in Zushi in 1961. He joined punk band FLESH in 1979. He performed in garage band Tokyo Bravo from 81-84. In 84 he was in the Osamu Tezuka movie Stardust Brothers. In 85he was asked by Yan Fujita to rap in support of Seiko Ito. In 1986 he formed unit TINY PUNX with Hiroshi Fujiwara. At the same time he opened a club and it started a DJ boom, which got lots of attention. In 1988 he formed label and production company MAJOR FORCE with Gota Yashiki, KUDO and Hiroshi Fujiwara. In 1991 he released his first solo album “Fruits of Rhythm” on EPIC/SONY, the first of four. Takagi currently works as a DJ and music producer, as well as on projects for MAJOR FORCE PRODUCTIONS, his live improvisational act with UNDERCOVER, producing the albums of Naohito Takenaka, (set for release in June) and PELI (out this spring) and a solo project, which will be revealed soon enough ...

From the late ‘80s he worked on magazine and book illustration, and he’s presently the graphic designer for A BATHING APE and GOOD ENOUGH.

The original red-eyed owl, DJ KENSAW started out deejaying in Osaka in the late 80s. His mixtapes won him attention all over Japan and later overseas, and he found himself playing big gigs in New York, LA and beyond. He has been the front act for major artists including ICE-T, BDP, DEFSQUADGANGSTAA, STRETCH ARMSTRONG and TONY TOUCH. He is the mastermind of radio program Hip Hop Control on FM802.

After working on the editorial team of men’s street style magazine Smart, in Sep 2005 Tetsuya Suzuki left to set up a website called honeyee.com, which offers fashion and lifestyle information. He serves as the editor-in-chief of that site and its recently launched sister site fatale.
RAY HATOYAMA
Ray is the COO of Sanrio’s US subsidiary, Sanrio Inc., which develops Hello Kitty and the company’s other assets’ global business. After graduating from Aoyama University, he worked in media contents development for Mitsubishi Corp., avex and Lawson. He took on his current job after getting an MBA at Harvard. He currently resides in San Francisco.
