Our 14th anniversary party, Drum & Bass Party 06S, offered surprise sets that had the crowd swirling in feverish excitement and showed us a new way of looking at the world. We enter our 15th year with a roar as we welcome the princes of the UK Drum & Bass scene FRICTION to the stage.
Based in Brighton, England, they released "FRICTION VS Vol.03" the other day through their self-controlled label SHOGUN AUDIO. Produced as a collaboration of four groups, including the producers of METRIK, the work is designed from the floor up for the dance floor, with a musical set made up by a heavy rotation of top DJs. They also contribute to the growth and development of the dance music scene as personalities on England's state-owned, cutting-edge radio station BBC RADIO 1. ANDY C made full use of four turntables as his set unfolded and developed in rapid succession with a play style that can be enjoyed even by those who aren't DRUM & BASS freaks. He faced off with Asia's powerhouse team of DJ AKi & YUUKi MC who, backed up by 14 years of experience, made for an exquisite combination with a stable DJ style that had countless fans entranced. What's more, TJO, whose genre-less DJ style is currently popular on the Japanese scene, made his second appearance with a DRUM & BASS set at 06S! Come to witness the action as we get off to a running start in 2015!
