Since its launch in April 2013, Push & Pull has been one of the key homes in Shanghai for cutting-edge club music.

Through its monthly night at The Shelter as well as regular shows around Shanghai and China, co-founders Naaah and Alta have been responsible for helping introduce and promote a variety of emerging club sounds, and Push & Pull has also been recognised by Noisey as the base of the city’s nascent grime scene.

Push & Pull has been building links with the Tokyo scene in the past year, with Dekishi, Pakin and Sakana all performing at the club night.

Now following Alta’s move to the city we’re stepping things up with our first night in Tokyo and strengthening the emerging ties between the underground scenes in China and Japan. On Saturday 29 October we’ll be taking over Forestlimit with a line-up spanning grime, gqom, footwork and jungle featuring DJs from some of Tokyo’s most essential crews: Booty Tune’s Teddman, T.R Radio’s Noda alongside MCs Pakin and Dekishi, Gyto from UK bass crew Void, and Push & Pull co-founder Alta.
