Introducing the German DJ/Producer duo, Jewelz & Sparks, who sent the floor at ageHa into a frenzy in 2015. Influenced by artists like Fatboy Slim and The Prodigy, Jewelz & Sparks incorporate minimalist techno elements into their big house sound, earning their status as a highly praised duo within the EDM world.

Not to mention their original tracks, Jewelz & Sparks have made a reputation of creating punchy remixes like that of The Chainsmokers’ “Paris" Remix, Benny Benassi’s “Satisfaction" Remix, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s “The Hum" Remix.  Up until now, the duo have released under the same labels as artists like Calvin Harris, Fedde Le Grand, Hardwell, as well as Tiesto.

They just released a new collaboration with Afrojack featuring Canada's Emmalyn in April of 2019. Be sure to check it out.

iFLYER interviewed Jewelz & Sparks about their latest release.

Q: This track feels different and more challenging that your last collaboration, “When You’re Gone.” What was the concept behind making “Switch?”

We felt we had to take our production to the next level. So it's a very special record to us. We developed a whole new approach to producing a vocal track like this. Emmalyn had such a sexy voice on the track so we tried to put it in contrast with this darker bassline and retro style synths. We feel it's a very beautiful combination and we hope you guys like it, too!

Q: When do you want people to listen to this track? What kind of people do you want to listen to it?

The track can be listened to in the fitness studio or in the car as well as on the dancefloor. We are happy with any feedback and really curious what you guys think about the record. So it could be for younger and older people we have no limits haha.

Just a hint: For festivals we have dope remixes coming so stay tuned.

Q: Why did you decide to collaborate with Emmalyn, someone without a known background in dance music, for the vocals on this track?

Her vocals where just perfect for the concept we had in mind. So she manages to really get the emotions across that come with this rather sexy song. We had to work with her after the first few seconds we heard the voice we were convinced and we love the result.

Q: The color red is used distinctly in the video for this track. What kind of message is at the heart of the video?

The actress is actually Lais Riberio, a model for Victorias Secret. Red was the perfect color for her dresses. It represents Passion, Erotic and self confidence. A seductive performance like no other we've seen before.

It's awesome and fits the mood of the song perfectly.

Q: Do you plan to have any artists remix “Switch?” If you were to have someone remix it, who would you like to have work on the remix?

We actually gave it out to some guys to remix it already but we can't mention any names yet. We are looking for the perfect club mix rather than just having big names on the song. Also we wanna give upcoming artists a chance to to a great job. As we did many remixes ourselves in the past we are all about the quality of the mix.
