Staying true to his own and not becoming a prisoner of his own style, HouseWork is versatile with his sound and believes it cannot be classified into one specific genre. If his sound could be described, however, he attests “I would describe it as mainly edgy progressive house with a disco funk influence.” HouseWork has released several tracks and compilations under a wide array of record labels, including System Recordings, Manifold Records, Electrified Mindz and Blinded Records. Although he prefers the old school ways of vinyl, he frequently utilizes CDJs in his sets, and Logic Pro and Ableton are used as his primary production tools.
HouseWork sought after all types of musical genres at a very young age. As a teenager living in Morocco, he became increasingly fascinated with the world of hip-hop and its surrounding culture, especially involving the artwork of spinning records. It was this passion and curiosity that birthed the concept of DJ HouseWork.
