Classic Wabaso started his musical career at the tender age of 14, playing at local youth clubs and house parties, quickly developing a natural flare for DJing. Coming from a reggea & Ragga background it wasn’t surprising that he naturally progressed into the Jungle scene.
In 1995, after establishing himself as a creditable DJ within his community, he become a known name in the house and garage scene. With the explosion of UK Garage, DJ Classic continued to promote himself by playing on the London pirate radio circuit guesting on Diesel U Music, Taste FM and Flex FM to name but a few; headlining at clubs such as Ministry of Sound, Club Space & Club Coliseum.
In 1999, Classic turned his attention to production, experimenting with music sequences, formulating his unique sound and producing his own dub-plates. His production was firmly acknowledged in the scene by industry professionals. Many of his tracks were featured on Radio 1 & a UK Garage Documentary, leading to a collaboration and tour with ‘Aaron Soul’ Def Jam UK. By this time DJ Classic had earned his right as a cutting edge producer/DJ and in 2006, Classic was promoting and hosting university events and DJing worldwide even hosting ‘The Andora Tour UFO Snowboarding” and the launch of the university radio station and performing at the ‘Jaheim’ UK launch party.
Classic’s natural ability to produce music and performing at so many different events has allowed him to cross genres and is now a respected producer and DJ in the House and UK Garage industries.
Not only a successful DJ and producer, Classic’s knowledge and understanding of music and cutting edge trends has led him to become an extremely successful promoter of events, hosting club nights for the African community ‘Wabaso’ and work in the community as a music co-ordinator for the youth service, giving his knowledge and experience to the younger generation. Classic Wabaso has gained a BA Hons in Sonic Media specialising in music production and sound design.
In 2008, DJ Classic joined forces with Worldclass Management who recognised his talent and have given him the support to turn ‘Classic’ into a brand and to focus even more on his music production and worldwide DJ career
In 2010, Classic started collaborating with Theo Komp, a successful producer and artist from Greece. They have come together to create a new concept ‘4 speakers sake’, using at least 4 different channels in their performances. “4 speakers sake” is being well received both in the UK and abroad.
