In 2004, i-dep released worldwide their first single from the Italian label IRMA RECORDS. i-dep performed at major festivals such as SXSW and Summer Sonic among others, gained high reputation in Japan as well as in the world.
In 2006, their 2nd single "Rainbow" won the first place on the HMV JAPAN Club Chart and many other dance music charts! This tune led to them having great success in Japan. In addition, another unit of i-dep, called Sotte Bosse, had sold more than one million copies of cd album.
In 2009, i-dep ended their activities as a group and became Hiroshi Nakamura's solo project and produced music for other artists and DJs. After 10 years of silence as a group, i-dep's original members got together again.
In 2019, i-dep invited Québec's New Star Hubert Lenoir to Tokyo and made a great success in the concert at Shibuya Densho Hall. Then in July, i-dep made the first appearance as a Japanese in THE FESTIVAL D'ÉTÉ DE QUÉBEC, the largest music festival in North America held in Quebec, Canada, 1.5 million people participate.
The music of i-dep is very original and based on each of the members influences and backgrounds in various styles of music, such as electro music, jazz, funk and bossa nova. i-dep keeps evolving without stopping and always remain unique and pop at the same time.
