Michael Nadjé (Diamonds and Pearls, Grießmühle / Berlin)
When Michael Nadjé started DJing in the late nineties, in the suburbs of Hamburg, it was all about hard and fast loop techno. Due to his exceptionally patient Mother, who let his DJ-set-up take over their living room, he could sharpen his skills with the music blasting at a mind-blowing volume. This support soon paid off, with Nadjé’s career starting out in the clubs of northern Germany. After moving to Berlin in 2003, his taste and sound turned more moderate. Since then, his sets are comprised of reduced house and techno, his sound is percussive and dry, with an occasional penchant for emotions.
He forms a DJ and producer duo with his friend Ricardo Esposito, with releases on labels like BTAIM, Brothers In Love, and WHITE and an upcoming track on Cinthie’s label Beste Freunde. Nadjé’s fondness for collaboration also resulted in an additional anonymous project. Together they have travelled around Europe and beyond, playing at various festivals and clubs like Panorama Bar, Fabric, Trouw, Concrete and DC-10. His experiences have made Nadjé become a DJ who always maintains the connection to the dancefloor and knows every trick in the book.
Since 2011, he is a resident at Berlin’s aspiring techno club Griessmuehle, where he’s part of the series Grime Box and REEF and playing the in-house parties alike.
