With the concept “Love Your City More, Find The Edge in Tokyo”, this series of events features Tokyo-based performing artists. Dubbed “THE EDGE”, this time the stars on stage are Shohei Mutoh of jazz punk band Katte-ni Shiyagare and Koji Ueno from HIATUS. This punk mariachi unit is definitely something to be seen. In support is an act formed by two of Le Baron de Paris' favorite music selectors, Kan Takagi and PELI, which is called PELI with Two or Three Things (I know about her). This is their first live performance, so don't miss it! Tonight, this is the best that TOKYO LIFE gets!

Shohei Mutoh has been vocalist, drummer and leader of Katte-ni Shiyagare since 2009. This is an acoustic unit that span off from his solo projects. Like itinerant mariachi, they play all over Japan, at clubs, live houses and rock festivals including Arabaki Rock Fes and the Rising Sun festival. In place of drum sticks a gut string guitar talented troubadour Mutoh blends his inimitable foreign-seeming sonic universe with the help of busom buddy Koji Ueno on the acoustic bass. Bursting with rock spirit, the emotion and pathos that the two are able to transit and a groove born of their very deep bond as punk mariachi.

PELI spins an eclectic mix of '80s, punk, rockabilly, hip-hop, reggae, ska, rock, swing and various other genres. She also works as a stylist for magazines as well as on music videos for music acts. She is a resident DJ at regular event GIRL FRIEND at MOTEL 203 as well as other parties.

KAN TAKAGI

Born in Zushi in 1961. He joined punk band FLESH in 1979. He performed in garage band Tokyo Bravo from 81-84. In 84 he was in the Osamu Tezuka movie Stardust Brothers. In 85he was asked by Yan Fujita to rap in support of Seiko Ito. In 1986 he formed unit TINY PUNX with Hiroshi Fujiwara. At the same time he opened a club and it started a DJ boom, which got lots of attention. In 1988 he formed label and production company MAJOR FORCE with Gota Yashiki, KUDO and Hiroshi Fujiwara. In 1991 he released his first solo album “Fruits of Rhythm” on EPIC/SONY, the first of four. Takagi currently works as a DJ and music producer, as well as on projects for MAJOR FORCE PRODUCTIONS, his live improvisational act with UNDERCOVER, producing the albums of Naohito Takenaka, (set for release in June) and PELI (out this spring) and a solo project, which will be revealed soon enough ...

DJ Fujiko began her career in 1992, based mostly in the Kansai region. Subsequently, she moved to New York where she played numerous clubs, restaurants and lounge venues. After returning to Japan in 2002, she continued her DJ career in Tokyo and Osaka. She was booked for a gig at Milan fashion week in 2007, which led to her moving to Italy the following year. She played the cult party PUNKS WEAR PRADA and was invited to play big events in Paris and Shanghai. She is currently the music director of high-end boutique RESTIR and plays events for fashion brands such as CHANEL, LONGCHAMP and CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN.

NAOKI SERIZAWA
Born in Tokyo in 1980. He began studio work in 2001, joining hard techno band MAD FUNNYBOY in 2005. After that, he began a solo career deejaying house and techno, playing clubs such as WOMB, ageHa, UNIT and WAREHOUSE 702. In June 2010 he began a residency at Lilith “the party!!!” at ELEVEN in Nishi-Azabu.
